The company is headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra and currently employs 27,506 full-time employees. The company went IPO on 2011-08-12. The firm's segments include Retail business, Wholesale business, Defocused business and Others. The Retail business segment comprises of farmer finance, such as farm equipment finance and Agri allied finance; rural business finance, such as micro finance loans and rural business loans; urban finance, such as two-wheeler finance, consumer loans, retail housing loans and loans against property; small and medium-sized enterprises loans, and retail portfolio acquisitions. The Wholesale business segment comprises of real estate finance and infrastructure finance. The Defocused business segment comprises of structured corporate loans, debt capital market and other discontinued products. The Others segment comprises of asset management and other business/investment activities.
